Our Doctors

Dr. Lee Lerch
Dr. Lee is originally from Ohio. He received is undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado with a dual major in history and pre-med. He received his doctorate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1980. He then interned in Cleveland, Ohio. He headed back to the Delaware Valley to complete his residency in pediatrics at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1983. Dr. Lerch’s father is also a pediatrician and his mother is a pediatric nurse--all are graduates of PCOM. Dr. Lerch was married in 1977 and he and his wife have three children--twin girls and a son. In his younger days he was a competitive skier and made the choice of going to medical school over joining the U.S. Ski Team. He still enjoys skiing today with his family along with landscaping, running, cycling and racquetball. He is an active member of his church and has been on a medical mission trip to Jamaica. In the future, Dr. Lerch hopes to find more time to do missions work in this area. “Doc’s” passion is treating children and enjoys working with children of any age. He especially likes interacting with his adolescent patients, along children/families with multiple births (since he is a father of twins!) and infectious diseases.
Christopher Amato, D.O., F.A.A.P.
Dr. Christopher Amato is a board certified pediatrician who has been practicing in South Jersey since July of 2004. He grew up in the area as the youngest of fourteen children. The large family background heavily influenced his interest in pediatrics of fourteen children. The large family background heavily influenced his interest in pediatrics, which led him to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He attended the UMDNJ, School of Osteopathic Medicine and then went on to complete his pediatric residency at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Dr. Amato enjoys working with children and has a special interest in pediatric weight management. He is a proud husband and father who enjoys spending free time with his family. He is also an avid follower of all the Philadelphia professional sports teams and tries to stay in shape to keep up with his three year old son.
Kristen Beck, MD
Dr. Beck earned her medical degree from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio and her undergraduate degree from The University of Cincinnati in psychology. Upon graduation, she earned the distinction of being an honors scholar. Dr. Beck is committed to working together with families in order to ensure healthy and happy children. During her undergraduate days in Cincinnati, Dr. Beck worked as a crisis counselor and child advocate at the YWCA Battered Women’s Shelter. During residency at Rober Wood Johnson University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, she was awarded the Mercy Urgino MD Compassionate Doctoring and Caring Award. Dr. Beck is a resident member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and edited and consulted on an Emmy Award winning film entitled “A Lion in the House,” which follows the stories of five exceptional children and their families as they battle pediatric cancer.
