Dr. Lee Lerch

Dr. Lerch is originally from Ohio. He received is undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado with a dual major in history and pre-med. He received his doctorate from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in 1980. He then interned in Cleveland, Ohio. He headed back to the Delaware Valley to complete his residency in pediatrics at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in 1983. Dr. Lerch is a clinical instructor for students attending PCOM & UMDNJ, is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics and sits on the Executieve Board for the American Academy of Pediatrics in New Jersey. He was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 2004 by PCOM. Dr. Lerch’s father is also a pediatrician and his mother -- a pediatric nurse--all are graduates of PCOM.

Dr. Lerch is married and he and his wife have three children--twin girls and a son.

In his younger days he was a competitive skier and made the choice of going to medical school over joining the U.S. Ski Team. He still enjoys skiing today with his family along with landscaping, running, cycling and racquetball. He is an active member of his church and has been on a medical mission trip to Jamaica. In the future, Dr. Lerch hopes to find more time to do missions work in this area. “Doc’s” passion is treating children and enjoys working with children of any age. He especially likes interacting with his adolescent patients, along children/families with multiple births (since he is a father of twins!) and infectious diseases.
